Aiming high without endurance

E-Bikeweek

Experience Madeira´s west

A pleasure for all senses!

More Madeira is impossible!

Discover the west of Madeira on an e-bike. You drive on side roads, coasts and pass roads, take a break in the small coastal towns and have to stop again and again, because the views are so great.

High rocks separate the coastal villages from each other. Agriculture still plays an important role here and nowhere else can you experience Madeira more authentically.

Individual

Mountain bike enjoyment as a round trip

They drive from their accommodation every day with their newly charged battery and are in the next hotel in the afternoon. You determine how fast you drive and how many breaks you want to take. You will receive a detailed route description from us as well as a navigation system with the GPS data.

With the e-bike, too, you pedal yourself and increase your fitness. The engine supports you whenever you want. Steep climbs, smaller climbs or headwinds - choose the support you need right now. You can also do the tour with a normal fully.

Day 2: Caniço de Baixo to Ponta do Sol

You drive directly from your hotel in Caniço de Baixo via Funchal to Camãra de Lobos. You always have to stop to enjoy a view of the sea or the harbor. A short stop in Camãra de Lobos, the oldest fishing village on the island, continues to the next highlight, Cabo Cirão, the highest cliff in Europe. In Ribera Brava it is worth taking a stroll through the small, cozy town and continuing to Ponta do Sol. From the terrace of the small snack bar or the Cais da Ponta do Sol you have magnificent views of the sea and the sunset.

Day 4: From Paul do Mar to Porto Moniz

From the hotel, continue up the serpentine road until you see the Ponta del Pago lighthouse in the distance as a small white dot. It is the highest lighthouse in Portugal at the westernmost tip of Madeira. A stop at the teahouse right next door or a little further in the O Forno restaurant are part of it. We continue to Achada da Cruz, where you can take the cable car down to Fajã da Achadas da Cruz. After the ascent, after a refreshment in the small bar next to the cable car with homemade cakes, you only go downhill to Porto Moniz.

Day 5: From Porto Moniz to Ribera Brava

From the hotel it goes along the old coastal road to Ribera da Janela and then steadily up to Paul da Serra. You drive to Fanal in the “magic forest” under 1000 year old stink laurel trees (or leave the bicycles at the forest house and walk a bit to capture the flair of the old trees). Continue to the Encumeada Pass. Here you have a wonderful view of both the north and south coast. From now on it goes down to Ribera Brava. Here is time for a break, to watch the spectacle of the waves on the promenade or to take a short dip in the sea before the transfer bus picks you up.

Day 6: To the farmers market in Santo da Serra

Today drive to Camacha, where you can make a detour to the basket museum and then continue through a beautiful landscape to Santo da Serra. Every Sunday in Santo da Serra there is an original farmers market. You will find a great range of seasonal exotic fruits, vegetables, wood-fired breads, homemade cakes, and much more. Nobody is neglected when it comes to eating either. At Tia Rita it is worth looking for a place between the locals. After visiting the church and Blandys Park, it is worth taking a photo stop at the golf course on the way back before returning to Caniço de Baixo.
